From an exciting lineup of heroes to fresh maps and the introduction of the first-ever Battle Pass, this launch promises to captivate both new players and long-time fans alike.
Since its initial announcement, Marvel Rivals has been building excitement, and after experiencing the Beta test back in August, players are eager for the complete experience that the official release will provide. With a lineup that includes numerous iconic characters, a variety of maps, and powerful team-up moves, this free-to-play title is anticipated to attract a massive player base upon its launch.
As part of the game’s official rollout, Season 0 will bring a wealth of fresh content. Here’s a detailed look at what players can expect.
Marvel Rivals Season 0 is set to go live alongside the game’s official release, which is slated for December 6. Players will be able to dive into the new game immediately with Season 0 implemented from the start.
Season 0 Timeline
Season 0 will coincide with the game’s launch but will feature a shorter duration compared to standard seasons. It is expected to last until early January 2025, when Season 1 will officially begin. Subsequent seasons will then follow a three-month cycle, with Season 2 anticipated for April.
Introduction of 33 Heroes in Season 0
The debut of Marvel Rivals marks the starting point for an expansive roster, with Season 0 expected to introduce up to 33 heroes. Currently, 28 heroes are confirmed, leaving fans eager to discover the additional five characters that will surface in the lead-up to the launch.
As new heroes are announced, fans can keep an eye on updates regarding which beloved characters and villains will make it into the game’s launch roster.
Diverse New Maps Await Players
In addition to the exciting heroes, players will also encounter a range of new maps upon entering Season 0. Testing during the Beta allowed players to experience four maps, but the full launch will present a total of eight maps designed for Quick Match and Competitive play.
Creative Director Guangguang shared details about the maps in the inaugural ‘Dev Vision’ video, confirming a full-scale map for Conquest, the game’s unique take on Team Deathmatch, will also be available in Season 0. Furthermore, a much-requested Practice Range is in the works, allowing players to explore hero abilities without participating in matchmaking.

The All-New Season 0 Battle Pass
Adding to the excitement, Season 0 will introduce the first Battle Pass for Marvel Rivals. Packed with unique costumes and cosmetic items, this Battle Pass is designed to allow players to personalize their favorite characters.
Due to the shorter season length of just one month, this Battle Pass will feature approximately half the content compared to standard seasonal passes and will be priced accordingly, making it a more affordable option for players.
