Massive Weapon Balancing Changes Unveiled by Warzone Developers

Massive Weapon Balancing Changes Unveiled by Warzone Developers

Shortly after the Season 2 update was released, Raven Software revealed modifications to weapon balancing, focusing on two specific weapons in Warzone.

Season 2 has introduced a total of four fresh weapons, among which the Cypher 091 Assault Rifle (AR) has generated significant buzz as a potential rival to the dominant XM4 in the long-range combat scene.

Despite recent adjustments that aimed to decrease the XM4’s damage range, many players still perceive it as the premier AR available in Warzone.

The PPSh-41, on the other hand, excels in close-quarter engagements but is hindered by a challenging recoil pattern that makes it less effective during medium to long-range encounters. Acknowledging these issues, Raven Software has decided to implement further changes to these firearms.

Upcoming Nerfs for XM4 and PPSh-41 in Warzone

In a recent statement, Raven Software declared, “As we continue to monitor the launch of Warzone Season 2, we are preparing a number of weapon adjustments for the XM4 and PPSh-41. These will be deployed by early next week!”

The adjustments made in Season 2 have notably decreased the XM4’s maximum, medium, and minimum damage ranges. Despite this, the AR remains a formidable opponent due to the Buffer Weight Stock, which enhances horizontal recoil control by 60%, reduces gun kick by 32%, and vertically stabilizes recoil by 30%.

As a result, the nerf executed during Season 2 might not significantly affect the XM4’s performance, especially with this advantageous attachment equipped.

Conversely, there’s a consensus among players that the PPSh-41 may require enhancements. Some community members have specifically called for improvements to its iron sights and a reduction of smoke and flash effects to enhance visibility during firefights. Warzone pro HusKerrs highlighted these issues, stating, “If you’re gonna make the PPSh meta, can you please improve the iron sights and remove the gun smoke/flash so we can see what we’re shooting.”

Interestingly, instead of advocating for further nerfs to the XM4, some players are pushing for buffs to other ARs so they can compete more effectively. One user expressed frustration: “Can you at least buff a few ARs? They all feel terrible.” Complaints were specifically directed at the AK, which has a tendency to bounce excessively, and others like the Ames, Model L, and Krig which are perceived as underwhelming.
