Maushold: Golden Child in Pokemon Go Encounter

Similar to how new events in Pokemon Go, like Go Fest 2024, often encounter initial problems that are eventually resolved, the game’s latest additions, Tandemaus and Maushold from the Scarlet & Violet region Paldea, are causing issues in the mobile title.

Tandemaus and its evolved form Maushold are unique Pokemon made up of multiple smaller Pokemon, similar to Kangaskhan. However, this distinct characteristic has also led to complications in Go.

A Reddit user shared their own issue involving a small mouse from Maushold, as it appears to be trying to escape or being rejected by other family members.

I can’t tell if this is a bugged 3 or a bugged 4 maushold byu/matphoto inpokemongo

The author elaborated on the issue, stating, “The 4th little guy is occasionally on the right, but not always.”Although some individuals acknowledged the problem, most of the responses simply ran with the joke.

In response to the author’s question, one comment suggested, “They’re probably just making the least favorite child stand off to the side.”Another person then made a joke about the unique evolution of the Pokemon, stating, “That’s how they get the family of three – by leaving out the 2nd stage evolution.”

One comment playfully quipped, “Looks like you’ve found your golden child” before the author provided an update on the situation, stating, “It appears that he has permanently left and the family is now a party of three.”

Despite the rarity of the ‘family of three’ form compared to the ‘family of four’ variant, players are eager to determine if they have discovered this elusive creature.

Upon being questioned about the contents of their Pokedex entries, the author reiterated their response, stating, “I can’t confirm it, but I have both evolutions, so I believe that indicates I possess a 3 Maushold.”

The discovery of a strange find was met with excitement from other players who were quick to offer their assistance. One player explained, “If there’s a solid line, that means you have a family of three. But if it’s a dashed line, it means you don’t.”Another player chimed in, “That definitely seems to be the case!”

This is a unique find, and an even rarer issue, that Niantic will hopefully address in the future.
