Mayonaka Punch: New Details Revealed for Summer 2024 Release

The official website and X (formerly Twitter) handle for the Mayonaka Punch anime shared a new promotional video and visual on Sunday, June 2, 2024, to announce that the series will premiere on July 8, 2024. Along with this, the staff also revealed details about the theme songs, as well as the additional cast and staff members.

According to the story of Doga Toko Shojo, Mayonaka Punch is an original television anime project produced by P.A.Works and Kadokawa. On January 26, 2024, Kadokawa launched an official website to announce the production of the anime. In addition to the anime, the project also includes adaptations in the form of a manga and novel.

Mayonaka Punch: New Trailer Reveals July 8, 2024 Release Date

As previously stated, the official staff of the Mayonaka Punch anime released a new promotional video on Sunday announcing that the anime is set to premiere on July 8, 2024, during the summer season. The brief clip also revealed the broadcast schedule for the anime.

The release schedule for the Mayonaka Punch anime has been finalized. Beginning on July 8, 2024, the show’s episodes will air every Monday at 10:30 PM JST on Tokyo MX and AT-X. Subsequently, the show will also be broadcasted on BS11 at 11 PM JST.

In addition to being broadcasted on Tokyo MX and BS11, the series will also be available for Japanese viewers to watch on Sun TV at 12 am JST starting July 9, 2024 and on Tulip TV at 1:50 AM JST from the same date. The anime will also be streamed on platforms such as U-Next and d Anime Store.

It is noteworthy that the recently released trailer features the primary characters and offers viewers a sneak peek into the storyline of the anime.

The PV also showcases the opening theme song, Gimi Gimi, sung by the anime’s characters Live (VA: Fairouz Ali), Tokage (VA: Hitomi Ueda), Ichiko (VA: Yuina Ito), Yuki (VA: Ai Kayano), and Fuu (VA: Hina Yomiya), in addition to revealing the release date information.

Ikumi Hasegawa lends her voice to Masaki, who performs the ending theme song, “Henshu-ten”(translated to “Edit Point”in English). The official staff also revealed a new visual for the anime, depicting Live, Masaki, Fuu, Ichiko, Tokage, and Yuki, titled Mayonaka Punch.

Two additional cast members have been revealed in the announcement. Chika Anzai, a well-known voice actor, has been cast as Kikka while Reina Kondo, who is the voice of Otomi, will also join the cast.

On Sunday, the team behind the anime made an announcement introducing new members to their staff. As per the reports, Ryota Arima, Masami Goda, and Sanae Sato have been appointed as the chief animation directors, while Kayoko Nabeta is recognized as the main animator.

Yuta Fujii is employed in the art industry, alongside Yuki Maeda as the art director and Ayumu Takahashi as the editor. Heart Company oversees the music production, with Satoki Iida serving as the sound director.

Shu Honma serves as the director for the anime produced by P.A.Works, while Hideaki Shirasaka takes on the role of scriptwriter. The series also features Ryota Arima as the chief animation director, responsible for adapting Tsukasa Kotobuki’s original character designs for animation. The original work for Doga Toko Shojo was written by the author of the same name.

The focal point of the comedic anime, Mayonaka Punch, revolves around Masaki, a member of the popular NewTuber group, Harakiri Sisters. Despite being fired for a particular reason, Masaki is determined to make a comeback in the same industry. By chance, she crosses paths with Live, and together they set their sights on reaching 1 million subscribers on the NewTube platform.
