Jeremy Renner is set to reprise his role as Mike McLusky in the acclaimed crime drama Mayor of Kingstown, which has officially been renewed for a fourth season on Paramount+. This announcement comes on the heels of the series’ growing popularity since its debut in 2021, establishing it as one of the channel’s flagship shows.
The series, co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon (who also stars), follows the dynamics of a powerful family navigating the turbulent landscape of Kingstown, Michigan. Renner’s character, serving as the town’s unofficial mayor and a fixer, has captured audiences with his compelling narrative.
Renewal for Season 4
With the Season 4 renewal, Mayor of Kingstown fans can anticipate more gripping storylines, although specific plot details remain under wraps for now. The previous season showcased the escalating conflict between McLusky and the Russian mob, making it Paramount’s most-viewed show during its airing.
Season 3 was particularly noteworthy as it marked Renner’s return following a serious snow plow accident that required intensive care, underscoring his resilience and commitment to the role. Hugh Dillon praised his co-star’s efforts, stating in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “What that guy has done behind the camera and in front of the camera is nothing short of spectacular in every regard. A big driving force [of doing this show] is to see the satisfaction with Jeremy Renner. He made a giant comeback and to see him be artistically satisfied.”
As of now, the release date for Season 4 remains undisclosed, but the writer’s room was gathered in October, indicating that principal photography could begin as early as 2025. Fans are eagerly awaiting further updates on the series’ development and storyline progression.
