The highly-anticipated YuGiOh x Hello Kitty Happy Meal toys have finally been released in the US by McDonald’s. However, fans are expressing their disappointment over one missing element.
On August 21, McDonald’s finally released its long-awaited limited-edition Hello Kitty x YuGiOh Happy Meal toys. Fans were ecstatic about the toys, which had previously only been seen in Belgium in 2023.
The initial collection of Happy Meal toys features 10 plush Hello Kitty and Friends characters dressed as popular YuGiOh card characters. Based on the popularity of the Collector’s Cups, these toys may sell out quickly.
Nevertheless, upon receiving these collectibles, fans in the US were quick to realize that one important element was absent, leaving them with a sense of disappointment.
Based on a comparison made by a user of X between the US and international versions, it has been determined that the American version only offers a selection of nine toys, resulting in the unavailability of the Bad Badtz-Maru Red Eyes Black Dragon toy.
Looks like no Bad Batz-Maru Red Eyes Black Dragon for us here in the US in the McDonald’s Yu-Gi-Oh x Hello Kitty collab 🥲We also get them in the plastic bags and no boxes 🫠 pic.twitter.com/YXwDe6B2Pk

Additionally, the US toys are packaged in bags rather than boxes, causing their shelf-life to be negatively impacted.
Numerous individuals flocked to the comments section to express their dissatisfaction, with several pointing out that the absent toy was the top choice.
“That’s unfortunate… I also heard that they’re using bags instead of those beautiful boxes,”one person noted.
It was even joked that Joey Wheeler, one of the main characters of the original YuGiOh series, was American, making it odd that the entire collection is not accessible in the US.
One user retorted, “Not American enough”with a crying emoji.
Some users theorized that this may have been the cause of the delay in these toys being brought to the US initially.
One individual speculated about the reason for the delayed release, suggesting that it may have been the cause for the delay.
Despite the disappointment of not receiving an extra toy, there were those who saw a positive aspect to the situation. They acknowledged that not having an additional toy would make it simpler to obtain the complete set of Hello Kitty x YuGiOh Happy Meal toys.
Not only is this Happy Meal causing a frenzy, but McDonald’s has also collaborated with BTS to release a series of charming collectible figures.
