McDonald’s Launches New Chicken Strips, Sparking Speculation About Return of Classic Menu Item

McDonald’s is creating a stir among its customers after introducing chicken strips at select test locations across the US, prompting speculation about the potential return of the beloved Snack Wrap.

The McDonald’s Snack Wrap boasts a rich history. In 2016, the fast-food giant made the contentious decision to remove this menu item, primarily due to the extensive preparation time required to make it.

Since its discontinuation, there have been numerous petitions advocating for its comeback, including one that has gathered over 18,000 signatures.

It appears that McDonald’s is finally taking notice, as they have begun testing chicken strips in selected US locations. Fans of the cherished Snack Wrap will recognize that breaded chicken strips are a key ingredient essential to its creation.

Fans are eager for the Snack Wrap’s much-anticipated return

This has fueled speculation that the Snack Wrap may soon be back on menus across the nation.

This buzz was further supported by a press release issued in 2023, where Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald’s USA, revealed plans to broaden the availability of the McCrispy (the new name for the Snack Wrap) in “nearly all markets around the world by the end of 2025, including variations like wraps and tenders.”

Following a post on Instagram showing the new chicken strips, excitement for the Snack Wrap has certainly been reignited among fans.

One fan expressed, “I miss the Crispy Ranch Snack Wrap, it was the best!!”

Another commenter eagerly anticipated the Snack Wrap’s return, stating: “I hope there’s a Spicy Chicken Snack Wrap,” to look forward to.

Many expressed gratitude over the potential national rollout of chicken strips, with one proclaiming, “Bring these back and I’ll give McDonald’s all my money.”

“I loved the chicken selects! They were the best! I hope these are as good as they were before,” another fan remarked.

While US customers may have to wait a bit longer for the Snack Wrap’s return, this popular item has remained available in several other countries. Both the UK and Canada still offer the Snack Wrap as a staple menu item, with one devoted fan even flying to get her hands on one.
