McDonald’s President Reveals $5 Meal Deal Could Stick Around Longer Than Planned

McDonald’s has recently made an unexpected announcement about their $5 meal deal, stating that it may continue to be available for a longer period of time. However, there is a catch.

2024 can certainly be considered the year of meal deals. As fast food prices continue to rise, numerous companies have introduced value options to entice customers. Pizza Hut, Wendy’s, Popeyes, and Burger King are just a few examples of brands that have launched their own variations.

One of the fast food giants, McDonald’s, joined in and introduced their own value meal. Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald’s USA, stated, “Our customers have made it clear that they want more value from us, and this summer, we will deliver exactly that.”

In an interview with the Today Show, Erlinger disclosed that the project may have a longer lifespan than originally intended.

The interviewers inquired about the original plan for the product to be available for four weeks and questioned why it was not going to be extended. The respondent responded, “We have already observed that some franchisees are in favor of continuing this.”

The duration of the $5 McDonald’s meal deal may vary depending on the specific location. According to Erlinger, franchisees in Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, and Las Vegas have already decided to prolong the product’s availability.

Therefore, the future of the franchise relies on the decisions of franchisees regarding its importance.

McDonald’s has not only introduced this value offering, but also announced their plans to give away free fries for the remainder of the year.
