On July 27th, at San Diego Comic-Con, Disney revealed that RDJ would be reprising his role as Victor Von Doom in both “Avengers 5: Doomsday”and “Avengers 6: Secret Wars.”
The highly anticipated films “Doomsday”and “Secret Wars”are scheduled to premiere in May 2026 and May 2027, respectively. While RDJ will not be returning as Iron Man in these movies, he will be portraying the infamous supervillain Victor Von Doom.
According to Joe Russo, Victor Von Doom is a highly intriguing and multi-faceted character. In order to showcase the limitless potential of the Marvel Universe, it was essential to have the best actor in the world portray him. That is why Robert Downey Jr. (RDJ) was introduced as the perfect choice for the role.
His ultimate goal is to become the ruler of the universe, which he plans to achieve by obtaining the most powerful item and posing a formidable threat to the heroes. Suddenly, a man wearing a metal mask made his entrance, but when he removed it, it was none other than Robert Downey Jr. delivering a dramatic performance.
Upon finding a profoundly unique narrative, Joe Russo and his team made the decision to come back to it.
