BioWare has revealed the main cast for the highly anticipated game, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. The cast features a combination of both familiar and fresh voices.
The highly anticipated fourth installment of the series will center on The Veilguard, a fresh team of heroes led by the player’s customizable character, Rook.
Within the talented cast of performers bringing these characters to life, you may recognize some familiar faces from games such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Apex Legends, Mass Effect 3, and other titles. Additionally, a few of the cast members are reprising their roles from previous Dragon Age installments.
Below is a compilation of all the voice actors who have been revealed for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, along with their previous works.

Rook: Alex Jordan, Bryony Corrigan, Erika Ishii, and Jeff Berg
In a similar manner to previous Dragon Age installments, players will have a variety of choices for their main character’s voice. The courageous hero of Veilguard, Rook, will be portrayed by a talented ensemble of four actors – Alex Jordan, Bryony Corrigan, Erika Ishii, and Jeff Berg. Two of the actors hail from the UK/Europe, while the other two are from the US/North America.
Alex Jordan, a British actor, has an impressive resume with numerous credits in both cartoons and gaming. Among his most notable roles are Mr. Hands in Cyberpunk 2077, Asher Forrester in Telltale’s Game of Thrones, and the lead character in two Sherlock Holmes games developed by Frogware.
Bryony Corrigan is a renowned English actor, recognized for her exceptional work in the theater. Her talents have been showcased in multiple Goes Wrong productions with Mischief Theatre, both on the West End and Broadway. Additionally, Corrigan lends her voice to a number of characters in Baldur’s Gate 3, including the notable Nine-Fingers Keene.
Erika Ishii, a well-known American actor, has gained recognition for their numerous video game characters. These include Valkyrie in Apex Legends, Hermes in Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, and Captain Amy Fang in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s Zombies mode. Additionally, they have made appearances on popular online actual play shows such as Critical Role and Dimension 20.
Jeff Berg, a Canadian actor, has had a versatile career with roles in both television and video games. Some of his notable gaming credits include appearances in Battlefield 1, Persona 3 Reload, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
Harding: Ali Hillis
Upon her return from Dragon Age: Inquisition, Ali Hillis will be once again taking on the role of Lace Harding, who has been upgraded from being a non-playable character to a companion. Hillis is recognized for her performance as Liara T’Soni in the Mass Effect series, also developed by BioWare. She has also lent her voice to other memorable characters such as Lightning in Final Fantasy 13 and Palutena in Kid Icarus: Uprising.
Era: Ike Amadi
Nigerian-American actor Ike Amadi is well-known to Mass Effect fans for his roles in the game series. He lent his voice to Javik in Mass Effect 3 and also portrayed Davrin, a Grey Warden companion. Amadi has also showcased his talent in other popular titles such as Mortal Kombat as Shao Kahn, Insomniac’s Spider-Man series as Aaron Davis/The Prowler, and Halo 5: Guardians as Spartan Jameson Locke.
Bellara: Jee Young Han
Jee Young Han has been cast as the voice of Bellara, a “creative and romantic Veil Jumper”according to BioWare. Han is best known for her television roles, having made appearances on shows such as Unprisoned, Perry Mason, and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. She has also lent her voice to Sentinel Dax in Anthem, another title by BioWare.
Neve: Jessica Clark
Jessica Clark, a British actress and model, lends her voice to Neve in the role of a member of the Shadow Dragons, a Tevinter rebel group. She has also appeared in True Blood and Pocket Listing.
Taash: Jin Maley
Jin Maley is renowned for their portrayal of Taash, a daring dragon hunter known for their love of adventure and willingness to take risks. They have also gained recognition for their role as Ensign Esmar in Star Trek: Picard, and have appeared in other productions such as Silicon Valley, NCIS, and the game Hellboy: Web of Wyrd.
Emmrich: Nick Boraine
Nick Boraine lends his voice to the character of Emmrich, the necromancer companion. The talented actor hails from South Africa and has an impressive resume, having appeared in numerous films and TV shows such as Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Designated Survivor. Boraine is also known for his roles in two Call of Duty games: as Stanton Shaw in Black Ops 4 and as Norris in Modern Warfare (2019).
Manfred: Matthew Mercer
The role of Manfred, the skeletal assistant to Emmrich, will be played by the prolific voice actor Matthew Mercer. Mercer is most recognized for his contributions to Critical Role, where he holds the positions of Dungeon Master and chief creative officer for the show’s production company.
Mercer is no stranger to the world of Thedas, having previously portrayed Fairbanks in the Netflix animated series Dragon Age: Absolution.
Additionally, Mercer has lent his voice to a variety of characters in both anime and video games. Notable roles include portraying Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Cole Cassidy in Overwatch, and Levi Ackerman in Attack on Titan.
Lucanis and Zach Mendez: A Dynamic Duo
Zack Mendez lends his voice to the character of Lucanis, an assassin who comes from a long line of members of the notorious criminal group known as the House of Crows. It seems that Dragon Age: The Veilguard marks Mendez’s second video game appearance, following his previous role as Haxx in Horizon Forbidden West.
Solas: Gareth David-Lloyd
Welsh actor Gareth David-Lloyd, known for his role as Ianto Jones in Torchwood and Doctor Who, returns to play Solas, the main antagonist of the fourth installment of the Dragon Age series, which was originally named after him. David-Lloyd has also reprised his role as Ianto Jones for several podcasts in recent years.
Additional credits also include appearances on Waterloo Road and Casualty, as well as a role in the game Dance of Death: Du Lac & Fey.
Varric: Brian Bloom
Brian Bloom, known for his portrayal of Varric Tethras in Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition, will once again lend his voice to the character in the upcoming game. Fans may also recognize him as the voice of Captain America in popular Marvel projects such as The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom games, as well as the upcoming Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
Furthermore, Bloom’s portrayal of William “B.J.”Blazkowicz in multiple Wolfenstein titles has resulted in a Game Award nomination for his performance in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
Additionally, he has a strong connection to the Call of Duty series, lending his voice and performing motion-capture for numerous games. He portrayed Captain Nick Reyes in Infinite Warfare and contributed to the writing for both that installment and Modern Warfare (2019).
