One of the members of Mexican girl group Jeans has addressed the issue of NewJeans on her social media after accusations arose that the K-pop girl group had copied their work.
Paty Sirvent, a member of the Mexican group Jeans, has recently responded to accusations of plagiarism made against the K-pop group NewJeans.
Sirvent used her personal Instagram account to share photos comparing NewJeans and Jeans, expressing her love for them by commenting, “I love it (me encanta).”
Afterwards, she uploaded a picture summarizing the accusations of plagiarism and exclaimed, “Wow! We weren’t completely wrong. (No estábamos tan equivocados).”
The longstanding dispute between ADOR’s CEO Min Hee Jin and HYBE continues. According to HYBE, Min Hee Jin has been attempting to gain complete control over ADOR, while Min Hee Jin alleges that HYBE’s rookie girl group ILLIT, which is managed by BELIFT Lab under HYBE, has committed plagiarism with their song “NewJeans.”
Despite the ongoing conflict between the two, there have been suspicions circulating online that NewJeans may have plagiarized the Mexican girl group Jeans. Last year, Mexican media outlet El Siglo brought attention to this issue, reporting claims that NewJeans may have borrowed ideas from the 90s popular group Jeans. The report highlighted similarities in outfits and concepts between the two groups.

The controversy surrounding NewJeans and their alleged plagiarism of Jeans remains ongoing, as some online users assert that NewJeans may have taken inspiration from Jeans rather than directly copying them.
Earlier, CEO Min Hee Jin accused ILLIT of copying NewJeans’s formula for their debut, criticizing their production process for lacking originality. She questioned the effectiveness of having a multi-label system if it did not promote creativity.
Currently, a lawsuit has been filed against Min Hee Jin by BELIFT Lab for obstruction of business and defamation, in response to her accusations against ILLIT. BELIFT Lab has firmly refuted the plagiarism claims made by CEO Min Hee Jin against their artist ILLIT. They have presented evidence to the judicial authorities to disprove these allegations and are determined to resolve the issue through legal means, regardless of the time it may take.
