THEBLACKLABEL’s new girl group, MEOVV, is making waves with their debut single “MEOW,”much to the joy of their fanbase. However, the track has received a scathing review from a prominent music critic in South Korea.
As reported by IZM, the review criticized the song for its brief duration and repetitive elements. The critique described several sections of the track’s intro, outro, chorus, and rap as “tiresome.”
Additionally, the song’s overall composition faced scrutiny, as the review highlighted its “monotonous rhythm, inaudible lyrics, and one-dimensional development.”These shortcomings were believed to have contributed to a lackluster outcome.
While the review acknowledged Gahyeon’s impressive vocals as the sole bright spot of the track, it also pointed out the lack of opportunity for the other members to showcase their talents. The critique concluded by underscoring a concerning trend in the industry where the pursuit of virality often overshadows quality and coherence.
