Both Minji and Danielle, who are members of NewJeans, have posted messages of encouragement to their fans, making reference to the conflict between ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and HYBE.
On May 17, 2024, Minji utilized the group’s fan communication platform, Phoning, to provide reassurance and encourage fans not to worry.
Instead of overthinking and worrying, she reminded Bunnies (NewJeans’s fandom) that NewJeas are much stronger.
In her subsequent message, she mentions gangs and firearms, which is a Korean phrase that translates to “possessing both fists and a gun.”This phrase is used to convey having both mental and physical prowess. She informs her fans, “We are Bunnies armed with fans and guns! Did I say it correctly?”
Afterward, she sends a message saying, “Hop hop,”which cleverly alludes to both the bouncing movement of Bunnies and the sound of a firearm.
“Just to clarify, you all understand that I’m using the term ‘gun’ as a joke, right? How about a ‘love gun’?”she concludes.
On May 19, Danielle joined her fans on Phoning for a chat and opened up about her struggles with sleeping. She admitted that she has been having difficulty sleeping lately and has been trying various methods to help her sleep. Last night, she listened to music and took a hot shower before asking her fellow members to keep her company. Thankfully, she was able to sleep well.
The idol also mentions the ongoing disagreement between their agency’s CEO, Min Hee Jin, and HYBE. However, she remains optimistic and assures fans that things will work out in the end, stating, “Even though it may be difficult now, I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. Just like a bad dream or a stormy day, this will pass and we won’t even remember how it all began.”
“I believe that enduring it is the key to getting through it,”she added.
Earlier, HYBE had filed a lawsuit against ADOR’s CEO, Min Hee Jin, alleging her involvement in trying to take over the label’s management rights. This resulted in charges of breach of duty. In response, Min Hee Jin called for an urgent press conference to refute these allegations.
In preparation for a shareholders’ meeting scheduled for May 31, where Min Hee Jin’s position as CEO could potentially be terminated, she has filed a request for a provisional injunction to block HYBE from exercising its voting rights. Furthermore, the parents of NewJeans members have enlisted the legal services of Kang Jin Seok, a lawyer specializing in entertainment disputes, to file a court petition expressing their backing for Min Hee Jin and their desire to continue working with her.
