Messed Up Thriller Series Gains Praise from Netflix Fans

Netflix has once again delivered an exciting series, with fans raving about the forgotten show Behind Her Eyes for its “twisted”plot twist.

In 2024, having a streaming service subscription is considered fortunate, all thanks to the amazing new TV shows that have been released this year.

Despite its recent success with popular shows like Baby Reindeer and Bridgerton Season 3, Netflix has also revived the attention of viewers with a mind-boggling plot twist in one of its forgotten series from 2021.

Simona Brown, Tom Bateman, and Eve Hewson star in the six-part psychological thriller, Behind Her Eyes. The show has been creating buzz on social media, as viewers continue to express how the big reveal has left them feeling “messed up.”

According to one fan on X/Twitter, “Behind Her Eyes”was undoubtedly the best series on Netflix. They added that they have yet to find another show that can compare. Another fan echoed this sentiment, stating that the series left them deeply affected for several days.

As a third person commented, “I just finished binging Behind Her Eyes on Netflix and that ending was mind-blowing,”while a fourth person added their opinion, “Behind Her Eyes on Netflix reminded me of Get Out…I never saw that twist coming.”

The main focus of the story is on Louise (Brown), her boss David (Bateman), and his wife Adele (Hewson), who find themselves entangled in an unusual love triangle as Louise forms intense connections with each of them individually.

The major twist in the series is not revealed until Episode 6 on Netflix. It involves all three main characters and also uncovers the truth behind a fourth character who had passed away earlier in the series.

Despite a string of chaotic occurrences, Behind Her Eyes remained an incredibly addictive television series.

Three years ago, when the series was initially released, viewers heavily criticized the controversial ending, which had been adapted from the enhanced version of the original novel (also titled the same) on which it is based.

During an interview with The Guardian, author Sarah Pinborough elaborated on her writing process, stating that she aimed for the story to follow the typical structure of a thriller. She found it challenging to incorporate clues that could be interpreted in multiple ways, ensuring that no character would be accused of lying. Pinborough emphasized her distaste for a predictable plot, stating that she would have been disappointed if the ending was too obvious.

She emphasized, “It’s fine if some people dislike the book. In fact, I prefer that over them feeling indifferent towards it. What bothers me is when individuals claim, ‘She didn’t know how to conclude the book, she simply added on an ending.’ That’s when I urge them to revisit and thoroughly read it again, and do their research!”

Fast forward three years and the situation has changed, as fans are now encouraging others to tune in to the six-part series.

Don’t miss out on the latest TV shows, true crime series, and documentaries available for streaming this month. There’s plenty to explore and discover!
