MF Ghost Season 2: October 2024 Release Date Trailer

The highly anticipated second season of MF Ghost is scheduled to debut on October 6, 2024. The anime’s official team announced this exciting news on Friday, August 9, 2024, through a promotional video. Along with the premiere date, the staff also unveiled information about the opening theme song for the sequel.

MF Ghost season 2, a production of Felix Film, continues the story from the previous installment. The first season, which consisted of 12 episodes, aired from October 2023 to December 2023. Based on the eponymous manga series by Shuichi Shigeno, the anime follows the street racing theme and serves as a sequel to Initial D.

MF Ghost Season 2: New Trailer Confirms October 6, 2024 Release Date

On Friday, August 9, 2024, the series’ official website and X (formerly Twitter) account released the second promotional video and revealed that MF Ghost season 2 will premiere on October 6, 2024. The upcoming season will air on Tokyo MX, Animax, and other networks in Japan.

The brief clip showcases the main character, Kanata Katagiri, along with other skilled 15 Drivers such as Koki Sawatari and Michael Beckenbauer. It showcases thrilling racing scenes and close-up shots of the key characters, while also providing a sneak peek into the storyline for season 2.

Additionally, the most recent trailer offers a glimpse of the upcoming second season of MF Ghost, featuring a new opening theme song. Titled “ROCK ME KISS ME,”the song is a collaboration between MOTSU and Yuu Serizawa. Interestingly, the two also worked together on the first season’s opening, “JUNGLE FIRE.”

The anime’s official website has received comments from the theme song artists. Yu Serizawa notes that the new song has a nostalgic feel like the previous one, but with a more intense tone.

MOTSU describes the opening song as a “full-throttle Eurobeat”and emphasizes that the entire team has dedicated their passion and effort to creating music that seamlessly complements the scene.

The sequel features the return of the original cast and crew, including Yuma Uchida as Kanata Katagiri, Ayane Sakura as Ren Saionji, Hiroshi Kamiya as Michael Beckenbauer, Ryota Osaka as Koki Sawatari, Daisuke Ono as Shun Aiba, and Junichi Suwabe as Kaito Akaba.

Naka Tomohito remains the director for the sequel at Felix Film, with Kenichi Yamashita once again in charge of the series composition. Naoyuki Onda also returns as the chief animation director and character designer, and Akio Dobashi rejoins the staff as the music composer.

Building upon the 56 chapters covered in the previous installment, season 2 of MF Ghost will continue the story from chapter 57, showcasing the next thrilling racing adventure of Katagiri and his companions.
