Michael Bisping criticizes Jake Paul as an “embarrassment” to boxing

“Michael Bisping has criticized Jake Paul, labeling him an “embarrassment”to boxing for his reluctance to face what Bisping considers to be legitimate opponents in the ring.”

Despite transitioning to a career as a commentator, former professional mixed martial artist Michael Bisping continues to hold a grudge against Jake Paul, especially after the latter’s recent victory over Mike Perry.

Bisping has recently acknowledged and agreed with some of the criticisms voiced by Conor McGregor, who pointed out Jake Paul’s “40-pound weight difference”and accused the social media influencer of being “heavily under the influence of performance-enhancing substances.”

Upon watching the fight on YouTube, Bisping shared his thoughts and labeled Paul as a disgrace to the sport of boxing.

Despite initially acknowledging that he was at a disadvantage against Perry, Bisping ultimately concluded that the truth was the experienced UFC fighter was simply too small for the match.

According to Bisping, weight classes exist in boxing and combat sports for a specific purpose. He pointed out that the significant difference in size between the two men became evident once they were in the ring.

Despite acknowledging Paul as the superior boxer for his aggression and powerful shots, Bisping still deemed the fight as “ridiculous”and believed it should not have happened at all.

Bisping also noted that other boxers observing the fight would find it humorous, stating that if someone of Paul’s size had been in the ring, they would have easily dominated him.

According to the commentator, his movements were erratic and uncontrolled, with his feet crossing in various directions and wild swings. It was not a technically precise performance.

In addition, Bisping criticized Paul for publicly criticizing UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira, even though he was fully aware that the fight would never actually happen. He also mocked Paul for claiming to seek the toughest opponents, yet actively pursuing a match with 58-year-old Mike Tyson.

Bisping questioned, asking why Paul does not compete against a professional boxer. He recommended several boxers ranked in the top 10 who he believed would easily defeat Paul with a powerful knockout.

“That is the reason why I continue to lack respect, as his actions were nothing but bully-like maneuvers to target someone who was much smaller than him… I don’t usually see eye to eye with Conor McGregor, but I must say, he was spot on with his statement.”
