Microsoft’s Xbox Series X Release Date Announced

Microsoft has officially announced the release of the long-awaited all-digital, white Xbox Series X, finally bringing a console refresh to the Xbox line.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of Gamescom 2024, Microsoft is fully occupied. Despite the numerous Xbox game reveals, the company is also focused on unveiling new hardware.

Microsoft has officially revealed the launch date for the highly anticipated digital-only Xbox Series X, first announced at the Xbox June showcase. The sleek 1TB console, sporting a white design, is set to hit the US market on October 15, 2024.

The updated Series X console eliminates the disc tray and includes digital-only options. Additionally, it is available in a “Robot White”color, further aligning it with the Xbox Series S.

When the initial leak of the refreshed Xbox Series X occurred, there were suspicions that the new console would include upgrades to certain components, specifically the heatsink.

Despite the absence of a disc tray and a new coat of paint, the official page for the upcoming console does not provide any indications of additional upgrades.

The official Xbox website and other trusted retailers will have the brand-new Xbox Series X available for purchase at launch for $449.99.

Two more new versions

Microsoft is set to release two additional versions of the Xbox console alongside the highly anticipated Xbox Series X.

One of the items in this collection is a limited edition 2TB Xbox Series X in “Galaxy Black,”showcasing a starry design. The same stellar pattern can be seen on the D-pad of the wireless Xbox controller that comes with it, and it will be priced at $599.99.

Furthermore, a 1TB Xbox Series S is set to release for $349.99. However, no new design changes can be observed, just an upgraded storage capacity from the current 512GB model.

Both the Galaxy Black Xbox Series X and the 1TB Xbox Series S, as well as the refreshed Xbox Series X, will be available starting October 15, 2024.

According to the Verge, Microsoft has announced that the console will be released in all regions and markets currently supported by Xbox hardware.

Despite being in the US, if you are excited for a new Xbox in anticipation of games such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, you can pre-order any of the three newly announced Xbox consoles that are currently available.
