Miley Cyrus talks about filming Black Mirror “I had anxiety attacks”

In a series of videos to promote her new song, Miley Cyrus spoke about the traumatic scene she filmed in season 5 of Black Mirror.

If Miley Cyrus is best known for her role as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana in the hit Disney Channel series, Hannah Montana, she also appeared in My Uncle Charlie, LOL USA and more recently Black Mirror.

However, while participating in the Netflix dystopian series, Miley Cyrus had a traumatic experience that she has just revealed.

Miley Cyrus says she starred in Black Mirror while dealing with a personal crisis

In a series of videos on TikTok to promote her latest single Used to Be Young, Miley Cyrus looked back on her experience filming on the set of Black Mirror during which she experienced a heartbreaking moment.

“I was filming Black Mirror and during that time the Woolsey fires broke out in Malibu. I was in South Africa, but it was happening in Malibu, it was really confusing,” the young woman confided. “Probably two or three years after that, I didn’t understand, but I was having these anxiety attacks with a vision of me strapped to a stretcher.”

She continued, saying: “So I had these dreams every time I had to perform on stage, and I thought it was just an anxious vision that didn’t make any sense. But in reality, while my house was burning, I was strapped to a gurney with my hands handcuffed and tied to a bed.”

Miley Cyrus played the role of Ashley O in the third episode of season 5 of the series, titled Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too. In the episode, Cyrus is a pop singer who is drugged and held captive by her overbearing aunt who doesn’t like the fact that she wants to change the trajectory of her career.

The episode then follows two sisters who are fans of Ashley O and who collaborate with Ashley Too, a robotic doll with artificial intelligence in the likeness of Ashley O, to free the singer and restore her independence.

Although the episode itself is already disturbing, especially with the presence of Miley Cyrus, a real pop singer who has had problems in the industry, it is even more upsetting to realize that the young woman was filming this episode while his world was falling apart.
