Millennial TikToker criticized after mocking Gen Z’s “club culture” footwear

A millennial TikToker faced backlash from viewers after criticizing Gen Z’s club culture, as they felt her ‘going out’ outfit was even worse than theirs.

At the age of 34, TikTok user Rae Christine, who identifies as a Millennial, sparked controversy on the internet with her rant about Gen Z’s “club culture.”

Despite being a fan of Gen Z, she didn’t appreciate seeing them wearing flats and sandals at the club instead of heels.

“She expressed her observations on the current state of club culture, noting that girls are no longer wearing heels in clubs as they used to.”

“Do we, as a 34-year-old, need to come out of retirement to teach the girls about wearing heels and which type of heels to shop for when going out to the club?”

Despite her ongoing rants about Gen Z, she also mentioned that one of the exciting aspects of going clubbing was dancing on the couch while wearing heels.

At the conclusion of her popular TikTok video, Rae revealed the thick, white heels she had on to her 32K followers.

Despite her criticism of Gen Z, viewers were taken aback by the “senior citizen”heel she was wearing. Many felt that she shouldn’t have been so harsh on the younger generation after making a fashion choice that could be perceived as outdated.

Even though viewers left comments criticizing the TikToker, she maintained her composure in her replies.

“Oh no, not the grandma heels at the end!”exclaimed someone, to which Rae clarified, “Haha, I never claimed these heels were Loubs! They’re actually club heels!”

Someone else remarked, “I don’t like the Easter heels.”

A third person commented, “I can’t believe you’re not wearing cinder block heels, lmfaooo.”

One viewer, who identified as a member of Gen Z, explained the typical attire for clubbing in their generation, stating “We wear heels for brunch and sneakers for the club.”

The debate initiated by Rae regarding club culture among different generations is not the sole viral controversy involving Gen Z and millennials.

At the beginning of this year, there was a heated discussion among TikTokers about the Gen Z sock rule. They argued that the only appropriate socks to wear were long ones.
