In a recently surfaced interview, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown referred to Drake as a “role model,”coinciding with his ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar.
During the interview, which occurred when Brown was 14 years old and had recently completed filming for Season 2 of Stranger Things, she openly discusses her connection with Drake.
According to Brown’s interview with Access Hollywood, he expressed his admiration for his friend and role model, stating that they frequently text each other. Brown also mentioned that his friend recently texted him saying, “I miss you so much!”to which he replied, “I miss you more!”He added that his friend will be visiting Atlanta and he is excited to see him.
When questioned about the content of their conversations, Brown revealed, “We talk about boys. He offers me guidance and he’s amazing. I have a lot of love for him.”However, the actress chose not to divulge any of the rapper’s personal dating tips, stating, “That information stays between us in our text conversations.”
In Lamar’s fourth Drake diss track, ‘Not Like Us’, he accused the Canadian rapper of engaging in inappropriate behavior with underage girls.
Lamar did not mention any specific person, stating in his rap: “I’ve heard you like them young, Drake… Certified Lover Boy? More like certified pedophiles.”In a later line, he adds: “Attempting to hit a nerve, probably in the key of A minor.”
In his response to Lamar’s accusations in ‘The Heart (Part 6)’, Drake vehemently denied them and even mentioned Brown by name. He rapped, “If I was engaging in sexual acts with underage girls, I would have been arrested by now. I am too well-known to get away with such behavior. I only associate with women like Whitney, not teenagers like Millie Bobby Brown. I would never even consider looking at a minor.”
This is not the initial instance where Drake has stood up for his bond with Brown. In the song ‘Another Late Night’, he included the lyrics: “Strange individuals commenting on Millie Bobby, look/Bring those jokes to the group, we’ll truly gather round. Or send a finger to your mother in a FedEx package/Open it up, it’s jaw-dropping, truly shocking.”
According to Cosmopolitan, Brown also addressed the criticism about the age difference between them in an earlier Instagram Story. She defended their friendship by saying, “Why do you have to focus on our age difference? You guys are strange… seriously.”Brown expressed gratitude for having industry professionals who are willing to support her career and provide valuable advice.
“I feel incredibly fortunate to have such wonderful individuals in my life. The decision of who is in my life is not something that can be made by anyone else. It’s truly refreshing to have people who truly understand and support my passions and pursuits. Let’s refocus on the significant issues facing our world instead of my personal relationships… seriously.”
As of writing, neither Lamar nor Drake have put out another diss track.
