During her exclusive interview with Daily Sports, ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin denied HYBE’s accusation of attempting to take over the management rights of the label by meeting with undisclosed investors and colluding with other executives. The plot continues to unfold.
Min Hee Jin Responds to Claims of HYBE: ‘It Is Impossible’
The news outlet published their phone interview with CEO Min on April 23, in which she addressed the issue of seeking independence from HYBE.
The CEO confidently and resolutely refuted all accusations made against her on this day, particularly the claim that she had met with investors without HYBE’s knowledge in order to acquire complete control of the company’s management.
Min stated:
“I have never met with any investor to take the management rights of the company.”
Despite her insistence, she added that it was impossible.
“I have never tried to seize management rights of ADOR as claimed by HYBE. How can I take over management rights with the 18 percent stake that I own?
In the first place, it is impossible for me to take over the management rights of ADOR because HYBE owns its 80% stake. Without consent, it is impossible for ADOR to become independent from HYBE. It is hard to understand HYBE’s claim that I tried to do something impossible.”
Min Hee Jin Expresses Concern Over Upcoming NewJeans Activities Amid HYBE-ADOR Conflict
During the interview, Min Hee Jin asserted that HYBE’s response was a retaliatory action against her, following her initial internal complaint and concerns about ILLIT (Belift Lab girl group) allegedly plagiarizing NewJeans.
Min further stated that she strongly believes she was set up by HYBE and reiterated that she never attempted to gain control of ADOR. She expressed her worry for NewJeans, her only artist, as they have a May comeback and busy schedule in Japan.
“I’m surprised that HYBE did this at a really important time for our team NewJeans. This happened while waiting for HYBE’s answer four days after I raised the objection. I wonder if there are cases where an external article is published at the same time as the audit notification, rather than the announcement of the audit results.
What should have been the intention of such an urgent article with an absurd content that has nothing to do with what I raised the issue?”
Min added:
“Before announcing my position, I thought a lot about it out of fear that it would interfere with the release of NewJeans that we had painstakingly created. But if I’m not going to make any position, I’m not sure what kind of attack will come and what kind of suspicions will become serious, so I mention it to the minimum.”
The CEO of ADOR proceeded to criticize HYBE.
“HYBE doesn’t seem to have any consideration of the condition or schedule of its artist. I don’t want to dilute its essence with unnecessary public opinion battles. We have an important schedule coming up, so we are carefully considering how best to conduct ourselves.”
