Why Min Hee Jin Chose Minji for NewJeans
Despite being accused of trying to gain full control of ADOR and splitting from HYBE, Min Hee Jin, the CEO of ADOR, has publicly addressed and denied these allegations.
At 3 PM, Min Hee Jin conducted an urgent press conference at the Korea Conference Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Following the event, various videos and photos from the press conference have been shared on the internet. Out of these, one particular video has caught the interest of Bunnies (NewJeans fans) online.
Despite claiming that all the remaining Source Music trainees were either lacking in skill, too old, or did not match her aesthetic, she singled out Minji as the only one who met her standards for the group.
She stated that her decision to choose Minji was based on her young age and, as confirmed by Min Hee Jin, her exceptional beauty. Furthermore, she asserted that Minji was even more beautiful at that time than she is now. Just for context, Minji would have been approximately 15 years old at that point.

Min Hee Jin Draws Criticism For Comments About NewJeans Minji
Her remarks sparked immediate backlash from Bunnies and K-pop fans on X (formerly Twitter). Critics took issue with her mention of age, pointing out that even the oldest possible trainee would have still been in their early 20s, which is generally considered young. Many also saw this as a targeted attack against Sakura, who was only 20 or 21 at the time.

Despite being accused of referencing “Lolita,”a book about the sexualization of minors, in Red Velvet’s “Russian Roulette,”she has also shared photos from the film “le farò da padre”on her Instagram. The film depicts a middle-aged man kidnapping a young girl, but instead of portraying a disturbing relationship, it shows them falling in love and engaging in inappropriate acts.
