According to a report by Sports DongA on April 24th, it was claimed by ADOR executives, including CEO Min Hee-jin, that ILLIT, TWS, and RIIZE had copied NewJeans. The executives reportedly conducted interviews with employees from the agencies managing these rookie groups and monitored public opinions on multiple online communities. HYBE also received this information through a tip-off and has stated that their audit team is currently looking into it.
The main focus of the ADOR executives was to determine if a particular group had plagiarized the product “NewJeans”, as they continually interviewed employees from associated agencies. This was identified as the primary concern during the audit.
Furthermore, the HYBE audit team stated that they are currently looking into allegations that CEO Min Hee-jin has made multiple comments during private gatherings claiming that “Producer Bang Si-hyuk copied me and created BTS.”
During an interview with Yonhap News on April 23rd, CEO A, who has been involved in the conflict with HYBE alongside Min Hee-jin, clarified, “The ‘ADOR internal document’ that was made public by the media reflects my personal concerns.”
Despite being referred to as an “internal document,”the content of my writing is purely based on my personal thoughts and experiences and was not discussed with any other executives, including CEO Min Hee-jin, at ADOR. I want to clarify that this document is not intended for reporting or sharing and should be considered simply as a personal memo that has not been shared with any other member of the organization.
In light of recent events, the individual responsible for leaking a personal memo stored on the company laptop to HYBE and causing it to be portrayed as an “internal document”for a supposed conspiracy by the media has deeply regretted their actions.
