Min Hee Jin has addressed a journalist’s claim that BTS, ILLIT, and LE SSERAFIM were negatively affected during ADOR’s legal dispute with HYBE Labels.
At a press conference, the CEO of ADOR, Min Hee Jin, confidently answered a question posed by a journalist.
On May 31, 2024, Min Hee Jin held a press conference at the Korea Press Center in Seoul to address the events of the ADOR emergency shareholder meeting earlier that morning.
During the Q&A session, a journalist inquired to Min Hee Jin, “It seems that other idol groups have suffered from this scandal. There are allegations that BTS may have ties to a particular organization, and it seems that groups like ILLIT and LE SSERAFIM have also been impacted negatively. Do you have a message for them?”
Despite HYBE and Min Hee Jin’s conflict, BTS and the entire company were accused of having connections with the Dahn World Cult. Despite denials from both HYBE and Dahn World, various coincidences raised suspicion and harmed the group’s reputation.
ILLIT was given the label of “imitation group”when Min Hee Jin accused BELIFT Lab and HYBE Labels of copying NewJeans for their debut. The group LE SSERAFIM, who had already been receiving criticism for their vocals at Coachella, faced even more backlash after Min Hee Jin disclosed that NewJeans’s debut was postponed in order to make room for LE SSERAFIM’s debut.
When asked, Min Hee Jin responded, “NewJeans has also been affected. I believe everyone has been impacted by this.”
During her statement, she emphasized that she, like everyone else, is human and that other groups should not be mentioned in reports. Min Hee Jin asserted, “I am human too. One of our employees made a thought-provoking comment, ‘It seems like people don’t see Min Hee Jin as a human being.’ But I am human, and so are all our members. Instead of singling out certain individuals, I believe we should avoid mentioning them altogether.”
Min Hee Jin emphasized that it is important for reporters to refrain from mentioning other people in order to prevent causing harm. Additionally, she urged for everyone to avoid discussing the issue entirely if their intention is to prevent further pain. She believes that constantly reopening the topic and questioning its impact on others can be hurtful in itself. Instead, she suggests that if we truly care about the well-being of those individuals, we should refrain from mentioning them altogether.
In her concluding statements, she emphasized the need for a compromise in order to heal the wounds and urged for the search for new solutions.
During the ADOR shareholders meeting, it was announced that two executives who had a close relationship with Min Hee Jin were removed from their positions. Three HYBE executives, Lee Jae Sang as the CSO, Kim Joo Young as the CHRO, and Lee Kyung Joon as the CFO, have been appointed to fill the vacant positions.
