Family Allegiances in Min Hee Jin’s Dispute with NewJeans
Min Hee Jin, the ADOR CEO who was accused of attempting to gain complete control of the company and abandon HYBE, has spoken out on the allegations.
At 3 PM, Min Hee Jin urgently called for a press conference at the Korea Conference Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
At the conference, Min Hee Jin refuted allegations of attempting to take control of management by stating, “I never even considered seizing management rights.”
After the news of the feud between her and HYBE went viral, she received a call from NewJeans, who expressed their sympathy for her situation. She shared, “Since this incident, the members of NewJeans have reached out to me in the evening, shedding tears.”
Furthermore, she asserts that the parents of NewJeans’ members support her, stating, “I have not exploited the children. The parents of NewJeans urged me to disclose any instances of unfairness. If profit was my motive, I would not have filed an internal report.”
With tears in her eyes, he continued, “I could easily earn 10 billion won by doing nothing. However, I cannot tolerate injustice. It is causing me great suffering.”
Min Hee Jin: I am a ‘Slave’ to HYBE
The speaker emphasized that her efforts were solely focused on working diligently for NewJeans, and she had no intentions of usurping control of ADOR. She confidently declared, “I have dedicated myself fully to this company and anyone who has collaborated with me can attest to that. I have no thoughts of trying to gain management rights. The contracts I signed with HYBE were merely unusual.”
Min Hee Jin’s attorney further stated, “We are in the process of renegotiating a shareholder agreement to address several inequitable clauses. In order for this new contract to be valid, HYBE must give their approval.”
Despite owning 18% of the stake in HYBE, she claims to be bound to the company due to contractual clauses that prevent her from selling her shares. She compares herself to a slave, as she is unable to fully exercise her ownership.
HYBE has previously released the results of their audit, revealing that ADOR’s management, particularly Min Hee Jin, had attempted to gain control of the company. HYBE has uncovered evidence, led by ADOR’s CEO, of plans to do so and have obtained proof to support their claims.
