Despite facing criticism for her recent comments regarding ILLIT, TWS, RIIZE, and even BTS allegedly copying her work, Min Hee-jin has once again become embroiled in past controversies as the spotlight falls on the CEO.

SHINee
In the beginning of 2009, the second mini-album “ROMEO”was released by SHINEE, a boy group under SM Entertainment. The creative direction for the album was led by Min Hee-jin.
During the photo shoot for their comeback, SHINee members were photographed using child-like props such as toys and milk bottles. They also wore youthful clothing, while certain photos showed Key playfully shooting a water gun at his own face. In one photo, Minho can be seen lying down in a drowsy pose, which sparked speculations about innocent fantasies involving young children.
Furthermore, a photo from SHINee’s 4th album “Sherlock”, released in 2012, sparked controversy as it featured Minho shirtless and sucking on a glass bottle.
Red Velvet
In 2016, Red Velvet debuted their signature song – “Russian Roulette”. However, the music video for this song, which was directed by Min Hee-jin, sparked controversy due to its inclusion of scenes and themes that were reminiscent of “Lolita”, a controversial novel known for its depictions of child sexualization.
Moreover, the attire donned by the members of Red Velvet in the music video was short and bore striking similarities to children’s clothing.
New Jeans
Soon after making their debut, NewJeans sparked a major controversy surrounding the outfits worn by the girl group in their music video for “Attention”and the lyrics of their song “Cookie”.
“The term “Cookie”is commonly used as a sexual slang in English, which is evident in the lyrics of NewJeans’ song. These lyrics include lines such as “Cookies I made. It’s so soft (what?) I keep thinking of you (ayy)”; “If you want it, you can get it”; “(Keep) looking at my cookie. The scent is different (taste it), one bite is not enough (uh)”; and “Take it, don’t break it, I want to see you taste it.”As a result, these lyrics have been interpreted as sexual innuendos.”
I’ll be her father
In 2022, it was brought to attention that photos posted on Min Hee-jin’s SNS, featuring the CEO’s studio, included images of a blonde girl without a top and a girl lifting her dress to expose her underwear.
In the 1974 film “Le farò da padre,”a middle-aged male lawyer attempts to obtain money by kidnapping a mentally handicapped minor girl, who happens to be the daughter of a wealthy aristocrat. As he becomes enamored with her, the lawyer’s feelings deepen and they engage in a sexual relationship. Eventually, he chooses to abandon his pursuit of money and instead focuses on their relationship.
As a result, netizens have begun to suspect Min Hee-jin of having a “pedophilia”tendency due to the nature of the film.
Despite the controversies surrounding her, Min Hee-jin has directly addressed those who have accused her of glamorizing the lolita concept, stating that their claims were false and unjust.
