On August 30th, the representatives of Min Hee-jin clarified, “Contrary to the announcement made by ADOR’s board of directors to the media on August 27th stating that Min Hee-jin would ‘continue to oversee the production of NewJeans’, this was not in line with Min Hee-jin’s intentions and was a unilateral media move that she did not consent to.”
In addition, they pointed out that the proposal to continue handling production, as conveyed through the media, is biased and illogical, making it challenging to comprehend from a logical standpoint. They highlighted the following concerns:
1. A production contract lasting only two months in duration.
The contract includes a clause that grants HYBE, the board of ADOR, the right to unilaterally terminate the agreement at any point in time.
On August 27th, ADOR announced that their in-house director, Kim Joo-young, had been appointed as the new CEO by the board of directors. As part of the internal organization changes, ADOR has decided to separate production and management duties. This decision aligns with the consistent multi-label operation principle applied to all other labels, which contrasts with ADOR’s previous setup where the CEO oversaw both production and business affairs.
