The much-anticipated first trailer for the live-action Minecraft movie has been released, and as expected, the world’s top Minecraft personalities are voicing their opinions. While some are not particularly positive, others are still holding out hope for the complete film.

Despite experiencing multiple delays and changes in direction, the highly anticipated Minecraft movie has been in development for over ten years. With various directors involved, eager fans of the popular video game have been eagerly anticipating the live-action adaptation’s debut on the big screen.

After a long wait, the moment has finally come – the first official trailer for the movie has been released online. Although the general opinion on social media seems to be that the movie looks “terrible”, even some of the most famous Minecraft streamers have started to share their thoughts.

The biggest names in the space, including Mikecrack, Stampylongnose, DanTDM, and others, shared their thoughts on the first footage by uploading reaction videos on their respective channels and posting on X. Here’s what they had to say.

Minecraft Content Creators React to Movie Trailer

TommyInnIt

TommyInnIt expressed his initial opinion on X by posting the following statement: “First Sonic, now Minecraft sheep. Realistic animation will be the downfall of us all.”

The content creator proceeded to share a more detailed video on YouTube in response to the footage. In what he described as a significant moment for the Minecraft community, Tommy analyzed the trailer and expressed his honest opinions.

At first, he made a joke about how he would have kept his thoughts to himself if he had been in the movie. However, he then proceeded to analyze the footage. During his breakdown, Tommy pointed out the overabundance of fur in the Minecraft world, but he also mentioned that he would still watch the film and is eagerly anticipating its release.

DanTDM

In his previous videos, DanTDM, a highly popular Minecraft YouTuber, mentioned that he was invited to visit the movie set. There has been speculation that he may even have a cameo in the project.

“DanTDM expressed his excitement at the implementation of behind-the-scenes elements into the movie, before delving into the various Easter eggs featured in the trailer.”

Despite acknowledging the movie’s comedic nature, DanTDM expressed his enthusiasm for the adaptation and believes it looks promising.

Dan described the challenging job of turning a digital creation into a successful film for the big screen. The YouTuber also noted that the sweeping views of the Minecraft universe were particularly impressive.

Sky Does Everything

Formerly known as SkyDoesMinecraft, Sky Does Everything has gained a massive following of over 10 million subscribers on YouTube, largely due to his consistent videos about the game.

In response to fans asking for his opinion on the new trailer, he wasted no time in sharing a series of comments about X.

When his fans asked for his opinion on the upcoming Minecraft movie, he initially responded with “Jack Black”and “Fuzzy Creeper,”before delving into more detail. In fact, the YouTuber even shared his ideal “script”for the highly anticipated film.

“To clarify, my script focused on Steve becoming briefly human, being pulled into the game by a Sentient AI named Herobrine, and having to race against this experienced AI to escape to the ‘end’ game and reclaim his body in real life. In my opinion, this idea was superior.”

Sky Does Everything was quick to dismiss the idea of a cameo when fans asked if they could expect to see one from him.

“While speaking on X, he confessed that he had advised against making this movie in real life and had distanced himself from the project.”

Stampylongnose

Stampylongnose, a beloved Minecraft content creator, promptly responded to the release of the new movie trailer. He shared a 20-minute reaction video where he covers various topics, including comparisons to Story Mode and unusual design decisions.

Despite other minor concerns, Stampy’s main issue with the trailer game stems from the game’s design of the Minecraft world.

Stampy emphasized that, apart from its block-like appearance, the style of the film has no connection to Minecraft. He also noted that without the iconic pixel art that the game is known for, the film bears little resemblance to it.

Despite the Llama close-up at the end of the footage, which Stampy found unamusing, and the movie being geared towards a much younger audience, he was taken aback by its target audience.

“The YouTuber noted that the film should be appropriate for all ages, as Minecraft has been popular for a long time among people of various ages. Therefore, the trailer should have reflected this aspect.”

Mikecrack

Having amassed 52 million subscribers on YouTube, it was to be expected that Minecraft enthusiasts were eagerly anticipating the thoughts of Mikecrack on the latest trailer.

The Spanish-speaking content creator uploaded a comprehensive video where he watched the full trailer for the first time and proceeded to analyze each Easter egg and design from the video game frame by frame.

A highly anticipated Minecraft movie is set to premiere on April 4, 2025, featuring well-known actors including Jack Black and Jason Momoa.
