SM Entertainment has confirmed that Karina, a member of the widely loved K-pop band aespa, will be absent from the remaining shows of their ‘2024 aespa LIVE TOUR – SYNK: PARALLEL LINE – in JAPAN’.
The choice was made following the artist’s recent battle with health issues.
In an announcement made today, SM Entertainment clarified that Karina’s absence from the July 28 Osaka concert was due to health concerns.
After thorough discussions with healthcare experts, it has been concluded that she requires more rest in order to completely recuperate.
“Karina was absent from the Osaka concert on the 28th due to poor health condition, and after a long consultation, we decided that she will not participate in the Fukuoka shows according to advice from the medical staff that Karina has not fully recovered and she needs some rest for stability and recovery”.

Due to this, Karina will be unable to attend the Marine Messe Fukuoka B Hall shows that were planned for July 30 and 31.
“Karina’s well-being is our top priority. After careful consideration and medical advice, we have decided that it is best for her to take some time off to ensure a complete recovery. We sincerely apologize to our fans who were looking forward to seeing her perform and appreciate your understanding during this time.”

The Fukuoka concerts will continue as planned with the remaining aespa members, Giselle, Winter, and NingNing.
Despite Karina’s absence, SM Entertainment remained committed to providing fans with a memorable performance and reassured them of their dedication.
The tour has been a momentous occasion for the group as it showcases aespa’s latest Japanese debut single “Hot Mess,”and has attracted enthusiastic crowds throughout Japan.
