Recap of Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 5

As he strolled along the sidewalk at night, Taiyo Asano is approached by a mysterious police officer who introduces himself as Seiji Hotokeyama.

Seiji brings Asano to the police station and questions him regarding the recent case. Suspecting that the boy may have ties to an organization, he probes for the names of his associates.

Despite this, Taiyo remains resilient. It is later discovered that Seiji Hotokeyama is actually working with Kyoichiro Yozakura, and helps cover up the Yozakura family’s actions in exchange for assistance with his own cases.

After the interrogation, it was revealed that the whole thing was a ploy to test Taiyo’s loyalty to his family, which he passed. The next day at school, Taiyo seemed exhausted from his intense training. Unexpectedly, Kyoichiro showed up as a substitute teacher for one of his classes.

The spy is curious to see if his brother-in-law can reach a semi-conscious state. He believes that a spy must remain alert at all times, even while sleeping. As a result, he releases sleeping gas in the classroom, causing everyone to fall asleep except for Mutsumi.

Upon noticing Taiyo in a drowsy state, he throws a chalk at him with full force. However, the boy manages to move in his sleep and avoid the attack. Kyoichiro acknowledges that Taiyo Asano has reached a state of half-awakeness.

At the Yozakura mansion, Taiyo comes across a spy journal and discovers that many spy couples end up getting divorced due to their busy schedules and inability to spend time together. This prompts him to feel the need to ask Mutsumi out on a date.
