Mistakenly Dropped Unfinished Items in Diablo 4’s Helltides Following Season 4 Update

“Despite being an unfinished item, players continue to discover Diablo 4’s Eye of the Depths Amulet in Helltide drops.”

Wowhead’s datamined information from Diablo 4’s Season 4 update revealed a myriad of alterations, resulting from the raw data they gathered. According to their findings, Amulets were subject to significant modifications in between seasons.

The leak revealed that developers at Blizzard had been creating a new Amulet known as the Eye of the Depths. This Unique, with an Item Power of 925 and a 25 percent resistance to all elements, was designed for players at Level 76. Despite being labeled as a work in progress by the game client, it was not anticipated to be seen in Season 4.

The Amulet has been obtained by multiple players through Helltide drops. Rikukun, a user on the Diablo 4 subreddit, shared a screenshot of their discovery and pointed out that the “unfinished item”had somehow made its way into the live game.

The player later posted a follow-up photo as evidence of their Barbarian character holding the Amulet in their inventory.

The item description labels Diablo 4’s Eye of the Depths Amulet as a “WIP,”or work in progress, as seen in the above screenshot. Although several stats are listed, one is marked as “TBD.”This indicates that the item was released earlier than expected.

Some players have also come across the Eye of the Depths and reported it as a PC bug on the official Diablo 4 Forums page. Several individuals commented on the post, claiming they too had obtained the enigmatic Amulet.

Someone even considered the possibility of activating the [item’s] power by going “somewhere on water.”However, it appears that no one has been able to validate this theory thus far.

Blizzard released the Loot Reborn update for Diablo 4 on May 14th, which brought significant modifications to the game’s itemization system and crafting mechanics. The community has responded positively to the update, with many expressing their satisfaction with the changes and stating that the ARPG now provides a more enjoyable gameplay experience.
