Chapter 14 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex centered on the protagonist’s interrogation following his capture by the Hidden Leaf shinobi. With village leaders present, the situation escalated as the protagonist remained tight-lipped about his source of information.

This led to Ibiki resorting to physical intimidation. Meanwhile, Shikamaru, observing from outside, feared for the protagonist’s life if circumstances did not change. Despite requesting Ino’s assistance, she declined due to the potential legal ramifications.

Left with no alternative, Shikamaru turned to Mitsuki, who had been harboring a grudge against the protagonist, viewing Boruto as the village traitor. Mitsuki was then tasked with a ‘mission’ to save the protagonist, which also served to prevent him from taking Boruto’s life.

Mitsuki entered the interrogation room, and after being provoked by the protagonist, he seized the opportunity to unlock Boruto’s chains, facilitating his escape. The protagonist quickly retrieved his weapons and fled.

Mitsuki’s unexpected entrance echoed their past connection, as the two shared a strong bond where Boruto embodied Mitsuki’s ‘Sun.’

Destined to follow an evil path due to his origins with Orochimaru, one of Naruto’s prominent antagonists, Mitsuki’s life pivoted when he found Boruto, Naruto’s son. Boruto opened up a myriad of new pathways, one of which involved aiding the protagonist in his ambitions to become a formidable shinobi.

In a reversal seen in chapter 14, the protagonist faced a dire path that could lead to his downfall. Mitsuki’s intervention—though seemingly random—paved a path for Boruto, ensuring his survival and reestablishing Mitsuki as his ‘Sun.’

Post-Omnipotence Incident, Mitsuki ceased to view Kawaki as his ‘Sun,’ given their swapped identities. Thus, Mitsuki’s decision to assist Boruto may also hint at him unlocking his true memories.
