Tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee, who is also known as MKBHD, has revealed that he will be taking a brief hiatus from YouTube and may potentially miss out on some significant upcoming tech releases.
MKBHD revealed the news through a YouTube video released on September 1, clarifying that it is a result of his involvement in an international sporting event.
In case you were unaware, MKBHD is not only a renowned tech reviewer, but also a skilled frisbee athlete. In a recent video, he shared that he has been actively involved in the sport for 17 years and has earned a spot on Team USA for the upcoming World Ultimate Championships (WUC).
WUCs occur every four years, with the US inviting approximately 200 individuals to participate in tryouts. From this group, about 25 individuals are chosen to represent the country on each team. MKBHD has been striving to be selected for WUC throughout his entire career, and he was ultimately selected to compete in the 2024 tournament.
“My biggest goal throughout my entire Ultimate career has been to play for these teams,”Brownlee explained.
He recalled that straight after graduating high school, he submitted an application for the Junior Worlds U20s and was given a chance to try out. However, he did not secure a spot on the team. A while later, he also applied for the U23s and was invited to try out, but unfortunately, he did not make the team once again.
“Although MKBHD will miss some tech events, his review of the iPhone 16 dropping on September 9 may be delayed. However, as the tournament only lasts for a week, we may not have to wait too long for his upcoming videos.”
MKBHD has gained recognition for his thorough and top-notch evaluations of products. The YouTuber caused a stir when he published a scathing critique of the Humane AI Pin, and also received backlash for his Galaxy Watch Ultra review.
