San Diego Studios is building anticipation ahead of the March release of MLB The Show 25 by teasing a promising lineup of new legends. This follows MLB The Show 24, which boasted more than 190 legendary players, featuring names such as Andy Pettitte, Adrián Beltré, and Johan Santana, along with several important African American figures through a partnership with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
While the prior installment offered a robust selection of legends, our review pinpointed a “lack of innovation”as a major drawback when compared to previous titles in the series. Additionally, the Diamond Dynasty mode faced criticism for its use of the *Sets and Seasons* format, while Road to the Show received scrutiny for only minimal enhancements.
In a positive turn, San Diego Studios has confirmed that the *Sets and Seasons* format will not be implemented in MLB The Show 25. This change means players can breathe a sigh of relief as they will no longer lose access to their cherished Diamond Dynasty cards with the start of a new Season.
Exciting Developments in MLB The Show 25
In an interview with Forbes, sports journalist Brian Mazique revealed that the development team is acutely aware of the feedback regarding the series. He quoted sources stating that “[SDS] heard it loud and clear, and MLB The Show 25 will be designed to feel like a fan-appreciation version of the series.”
Recognition of fan concerns continues as support for Road to the Show has waned in comparison to other modes. Nevertheless, Mazique hinted at significant improvements to this game mode and other features aimed to enhance the user experience.
Excitement is also building around potential new legends for the upcoming game. Mazique mentioned, “From what I’ve heard, Nomar Garciaparra and Roger Clemens have a strong chance of making the roster, although that may be subject to change. Names like Alex Rodriguez and Manny Ramirez have also surfaced during discussions.”
One player that stands out on many fans’ wishlists is Barry Bonds, though his inclusion has been described as mere speculation as the release approaches.
The gaming community will have to wait until closer to the anticipated release date in late March 2025 to learn more about what San Diego Studios has prepared for its loyal players.
