Are we witnessing the potential downfall of MLD? On social media, fans have been pointing out red flag signs from the label, indirectly suggesting that they may have already lost hope in the success of its artists.
On June 19, there was a lot of outrage among K-pop fans due to MLD Entertainment’s recent actions. The Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service had declared LAPILLUS’s trademark as “abandoned”because the label did not pay the necessary registration fees.
In 2022, LAPILLUS, the sister group of MOMOLAND, was introduced and has been active for two years. However, they have yet to properly register their trademark and it has been about a year since their last comeback.

Lapis’ fanbase began to express their frustrations in numerous online forums, criticizing MLD for not utilizing the girl group’s skills and talents effectively and drawing comparisons to the treatment of MOMOLAND.
Despite being on par with BLACKPINK and TWICE in terms of fame in the past, the third-gen girl group’s success was hindered by MLD’s inadequate management, causing the members to ultimately depart from the company. Despite their efforts to regain their previous level of popularity, they were unable to surpass the fierce competition brought on by the rise of fourth-gen groups.
During the ongoing discussion, internet users also brought up the current situations of other artists signed under MLD. Many expressed regret as they remembered the unjust disbandment of TFN, even though their careers were flourishing at the time.
Despite being part of its other groups such as NARIN, Coca N’ Butter, and HORI7ON, they were also subjected to poor treatment, with low-quality MV and music, and limited promotional opportunities.
Lastly, MLD has yet to provide additional information about its new group, which was initially mentioned nine months ago.
Ultimately, it can be deduced by fans that the label has abandoned its artists and it is only a matter of time before they cease operations.
Fans surprisingly prefer when artists are given the freedom to sign with another agency, as they have deemed MLD as the “worst”company for repeatedly debuting groups without providing proper care and treatment.
The following are some of the comments:
- “How do they manage to ruin every group under them?”
- “Keep proving that they are the most useless company. Lapillus don’t deserve it.”
- “This company is such a f**king joke.”
- “I hate this company.”
- “MLD is quite possibly the worst company to ever exist.”
- “Such a sh*tty company.”
- “MLD is the worst company ever.”
- “Oh friends this does not look good… someone needs to burn MLD to the ground.”
