On July 29th, CJ ENM announced the launch of “Planet B”, a project under Mnet that aims to create a new boy group that will make a significant impact in the global music industry by 2025.
The upcoming survival project, “Planet B”, serves as an introduction to the debut of a new global boy group. This project aims to uncover talented artists from all over the world, regardless of their nationality. Through platforms such as the YouTube channel “Mnet K-pop”and Mnet Plus, viewers will be able to witness the participants’ journey on “Planet B”.
Furthermore, the chosen individuals from the project will also have the chance to be featured on Mnet’s highly anticipated reality show, which is set to premiere in 2025 and features the formation of a massive boy group.
The production team revealed their intention to transform the typically private audition recruitment process into a prequel program. They also shared their goal of giving up-and-coming K-pop stars the opportunity to showcase their talents before the debut survival competition even begins. The team expressed their excitement to involve viewers in the process of discovering hidden gems and to provide an immersive and enjoyable experience.
“Planet B”accepts applications from all eligible boys, regardless of their nationality, if they were born before January 1st, 2012. Interested applicants can apply through the official website, beginning at 10 a.m. on August 10th.
