The anime is based on the manga created by Afro, known for Laid-Back Camp. The manga originally began publication in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Miracle! and is now being serialized in Manga Time Kirara Carat. Yen Press plans to release the English-translated volumes starting in November 2024.

Mono Voice Actor Presents Promo Video at Aniplex Online Fest 2024

At the Aniplex Online Fest 2024, held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 8 pm Pacific Time, exciting updates about the upcoming comedy Mono were shared. Attendees witnessed the first character visual of the protagonist, Satsuki Amamiya, accompanied by a promotional video.

The 30-second promo clip featured Satsuki’s quest to discover her passion, showcasing her taking numerous photos of food items. The majority of the video consisted of still images.

Voice actor Haruna Mikawa, who portrays Satsuki, attended the event and announced the anime’s planned release date for sometime in 2025.

Haruna brought along a 360-degree camera, similar to the one her character uses in the series. She also had the original Mono manga, an innovative kite equipped with a camera to be featured in the anime, and some local delicacies like rice crackers and shaved ice from Kofu City in Yamanashi Prefecture, the setting for the series.

What is Mono About?

The anime follows Satsuki Amamiya, a high school student distressed by the closure of both the Photography Club and the Cinema Club. To prevent their shutdown, she proposes merging them to form the Cinephoto Club.

The narrative will track Satsuki along with her friends An, Sakurako, and others as they organize fun weekend activities, exploring picturesque locations around Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, experimenting with various photography and videography techniques, and sampling local cuisine.
