Monster Hunter Now: Bug Transforms Gunlance into Explosive Bazooka

A bug in Monster Hunter Now has caused a player’s Gunlance to transform into a bazooka, giving a whole new significance to the Long Shelling Type ammunition.

Monster Hunter Now offers a diverse range of weapon types, including massive Great Swords and agile Dual Blades. Recently, Niantic introduced the Gunlance to the mobile game with the launch of Season 2.

This massive armament is renowned for its destructive combat style, enabling Hunters to impale and bombard monsters with explosive projectiles. However, a peculiar glitch turned a player’s Azure Rathalos Gunlance into a long-range rocket launcher.

A player recently shared a video on the Monster Hunter Now subreddit, showcasing a rare bug that transformed their Light Bowgun into a bazooka. Rather than using their LBG to battle the Banbaro, the weapon had been mistakenly replaced with the Blue Rook Gunlance.

In the footage, the Hunter is shown carrying the Gunlance on their shoulders like a bazooka. They then use long-range Sticky Ammo shots to bombard the monster, causing them to explode after a brief delay.

The Monster Hunter Now community was understandably perplexed as the Long shot-type Gun Lances have the ability to attack monsters from a distance. “What kind of sorcery is this that goes against the Way of the Lance? I demand an explanation,”expressed one player.

Some were enthusiastic about the concept of a bazooka-style weapon and believed it would be a game-changer that would cause them to rethink their preferred weapons. “It’s such a cool idea that could pull me away from using my usual weapon in db. I hope it becomes a DLC weapon in Wilds.”

It is unclear how this glitch occurred, but it is probable that it occurred when the player changed weapons and the model did not update. This is not the first instance of a bizarre weapon bug gaining attention from the Monster Hunter Now community. In one instance, a Hunter was even given a weapon resembling Captain America’s signature weapon.
