Monster Hunter Now players angered by Swimsuit skin price

The Monster Hunter Now Summer event is currently available, giving players the opportunity to hunt Mizutsune and participate in the game’s inaugural ticketed event. However, the community has expressed dissatisfaction with the exorbitant pricing for the newly released summer-themed cosmetic.

The addition of layered armor sets in Monster Hunter now allows players to give their Hunter a new appearance, with some featuring seasonal designs. Although their inclusion in the Season Pass has been well-received, the recent Swimsuit cosmetic has sparked outrage among fans.

The standard edition of the cosmetic can be bought for 600 Gems ($4.99/£4.99) through the in-game store, but it’s the alternate color option that is causing a stir.

The players of Monster Hunter Now took to the game’s official Reddit page to express their frustration over the expensive pricing. One player wrote, “Charging $50 for a Swimsuit recolor is ridiculous. I know it’s meant to be a bonus for purchasing gems, but it’s absurd to lock a cosmetic behind such a high price. Either Niantic had a change of heart or they are making some questionable decisions.”

The Seaside B Outfit Premium Pack, which should not be mistaken for the standard Seaside A Outfit Pack, is priced at $49.99/£49.99. It is worth mentioning that this bundle includes 5,500 Gems, which is more than the 4,500 Gems included in the regular pack ($29.99/£29.99).

Despite the community’s belief that the recolor is not worth the money, many feel that it is a better investment to purchase Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition for $39.99/£3.499 instead.

“One Hunter responded, stating that at that particular price, this object is simply a whale badge. Are you seeking recognition for your significant investment in this game? Are you tired of spending excessive amounts of money without any tangible representation of your dedication? Take action now.”

Despite the backlash surrounding the price of the recolor, players have been praising the original A version. One player stated, “The 600 Gems for the Type A Swimsuit is a perfect example of how cosmetics should be handled in this game.”However, the decision to tie it to a large transaction like this has garnered criticism from the community.

Without a doubt, you can fully experience the Dancing in the Tempest Part II event even without acquiring the layered armor.
