More than 110 Victims of Fan Meeting Scam “Suffered Sexual Harassment While Trying to See Byun Woo-seok”

According to the June 19th episode of JTBC’s “Scandal Supervisor,”ticket sales for Byun Woo-seok’s fan meeting began on May 27th and attracted 700,000 visitors for the 8,000 available seats.

Despite their efforts to secure tickets, fans were unable to do so and were forced to turn to online resale platforms. However, they were met with exorbitant prices, with tickets reaching as high as 9 million won, significantly higher than the original price of 77,000 won.

In order to gain buyers’ trust, scammers exploited this high demand by showcasing their successful ticket purchases. They promised to refund any payment if problems arose, but instead disappeared after receiving the payment without ever transferring the tickets.

According to Victim A, they requested proof of purchase and were given date and time information that appeared to be legitimate. However, it was later discovered that these details had been falsified and altered after the payment was made.

Despite victims requesting refunds, the scammers responded by ridiculing them. In one instance, a scammer even went as far as sending an inappropriate video and proposing to resolve the issue with it, while also pressuring the victims to send explicit photos in exchange.

One victim shared, “Even though I was aware of its illegality, I still chose to support my favorite actor. It’s truly disheartening how individuals take advantage of people’s emotions like this.”

The number of members in an open chat group for victims has surpassed 110, and the total confirmed losses have reached over 90 million won.
