As we dive into October, Niantic has revealed an exciting sneak peek at the Pokemon Go 2024 Halloween Part 1 event. However, this teaser image doesn’t hold back on hinting at what fans can expect.
Each October, the Pokemon Go community buzzes with excitement and speculation regarding the Halloween festivities. Enthusiastic players are eagerly awaiting the long-anticipated arrival of Mimikyu, while others are looking forward to the return of beloved Ghost-types to help complete their Special Research tasks.
This year, the Halloween Part 1 teaser was cleverly nestled within the announcements for the forthcoming Go Wild Area event happening in November, and the visuals clearly indicate a thrilling haunted roster for 2024.
In a post shared on X by PokemonGoApp, Niantic posed an exciting question: “What could be creeping and crawling its way to #PokemonGO during the Halloween Part I event?” Accompanying this inquiry was an enchanting image of a whimsical house set against an autumnal backdrop.
Despite the intrigue, deciphering the “creeping and crawling” shadows from the post proves to be fairly straightforward.

The shadowy figures hint at the inclusion of Zubat, Gastly, Sableye, Murkrow, Witch Hat Pikachu, Greavard, and Morpeko. Among these, Morpeko seems to be the most eagerly awaited, especially following its appearances in recent Max Out trailers and updates.
Speculation regarding the Halloween event has a way of ramping up as the occasion draws near. Thus, the somewhat abrupt unveiling so early in the month sparked a variety of reactions from fans online. Many expressed disappointment over the absence of Mimikyu yet again, with one stating, “$10 says Niantic fumbles the event, somehow.” Another user added, “With all the Galar content, I was hoping for a Galarian Corsola, maybe next year.”
Despite Morpeko’s arrival, it seems that players are particularly invested in the inclusion of Greavard and are hopeful for the debut of its Shiny form in the mobile game. Uncertainty remains, as players excitedly speculate, “Could we finally be getting Greavard’s shiny?”
This teaser leaves little doubt about which Pokemon will feature in the Pokemon Go 2024 Halloween Update Part 1; however, details about Part 2 of the event are still under wraps. There’s still a chance that highly-coveted debuts such as Mimikyu or Sinistea could join the celebration. Fans can expect more information regarding this event to emerge in the weeks ahead.
