<p>The next Mortal Kombat 1 update is set to introduce highly anticipated online practice options, alongside various quality-of-life enhancements for the Invasion mode.
September 24 is a significant date for Mortal Kombat 1, as NetherRealm will launch the Khaos Reigns expansion, coinciding with the rollout of Kombat Pack 2, featuring Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot available to players.
During a Kombat Kast, developers revealed the much-awaited news that an online practice mode is officially in development.
This new feature will also launch on September 24, allowing players to train and spar with friends simply by sending an invite. Additionally, Season 8: Season of the Dark Dragon will commence at that time, as announced by the team.
In this new Invasion season, Liu Kang takes on the role of the invader, driven mad with power.
Season 8 will introduce an array of quality-of-life improvements, including a much-requested mini-map for each Mesa. Players can look forward to using the map to locate chests, encounter bosses, and discover other important locations.

Other exciting additions in Season 8 comprise new minigames, such as Aracadage, where players can smash arcade machines to earn rewards like Krowns and Seasonal Kredits.
Additional features will include dedicated shops for components and the introduction of another Titan boss, offering players even more content to explore.
Moreover, Towers of Time will no longer be linked to the Invasions mode. Following the update, Mortal Kombat 1 players will be able to access Towers through the main menu of the game.
The MK1 team plans to keep nine Towers active at all times. The offerings will include Arcade, Seasonal, and Legacy Towers (for obtaining classic skins) as “permanent” options, while the remaining six will consist of five Timed Towers alongside at least one DLC Tower.
