Jiwon Ra, the model, let slip that there will be a cameo of Scorpion’s wife, Harumi, in the first Mortal Kombat game.
In MK1’s Invasion mode, we catch a glimpse of a different version of Harumi Hasashi from an alternate universe. In this timeline, Harumi’s husband, Hanzo, is murdered, leading her to take on the role of Scorpion.
As the malevolent Scorpion of Invasions searches for a surviving Harumi, Liu Kang introduces him to Harumi/Scorpion, a clever twist that has fans eagerly anticipating her potential inclusion in the roster in the future.
Jiwon Ra’s recent Instagram post (which has since been deleted) has sparked speculation that her dreams of being a model may soon become a reality. According to a post on Reddit, Ra hinted at being chosen as the face model for Harumi Hasashi.
“I cannot contain my excitement as I announce that I am the chosen face of Harumi Hasashi in the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 1 game.”
In addition, Ra included a brief remark about Kameo in the post that caught people’s attention: “Remember to select Harumi as your MK1 Kameo.”
Ra has removed the post from her Instagram, suggesting that her announcement may have been made too early. However, it is important to approach any speculation about Harumi being added as a cameo fighter in Mortal Kombat 1 with caution. WB Games and NetherRealm have not confirmed this claim.
Harumi, often portrayed as Hanzo’s wife, is known to have been murdered by the original Sub-Zero during a massacre that ultimately leads Hanzo to become Scorpion.
In the revised timeline of MK1, Scorpion is now known as Kuai Liang and is the brother of Bi-Han/Sub-Zero. Harumi is only a friend to Kuai Liang, as opposed to being his love interest. This adds to the intrigue surrounding her doppelgänger’s appearance in Invasion, as well as the rumored Kameo DLC.
