Mortal Kombat 1’s Ferra Kameo Delayed by One Month

Ferra’s debut in Mortal Kombat 1 as Homelander’s Kameo partner has been cancelled; instead, she will be released in July 2024 alongside Takeda.

Kameo fighters have been added to MK1’s Kombat Pack shortly after its initial release, expanding the selection of playable characters. For instance, Omni-Man was followed by Tremor four days later, and Peacemaker was joined by Janet Cage three weeks after his debut.

Homelander and Ferra were originally set to be released in a similar fashion. While June 11 was designated as the official release date for Homelander, Ferra was scheduled to make its debut on June 25. However, this plan has since changed.

NetherRealm has pushed back the release of Ferra Kameo by one month. As a result, she will now be available on July 23, which coincides with Takeda’s recently announced early access date for Kombat Pack owners.

All other individuals have the option to buy Takeda à la carte after one week, starting on July 30.

The Ferra news was announced by developers in a post on the official Twitter/X page for Mortal Kombat 1. The brief update stated that the delay of Ferra’s release was due to the developers’ efforts to better balance the character before its launch.

The message states, “In order to ensure that Ferra can perform to the best of her abilities, we require some additional time before officially releasing her as our next Kameo Fighter.”

Once Ferra and Takeda make their debut in July, MK1’s Kombat Pack offerings will be fully released. While NetherRealm and WB Games have not officially announced a second Kombat Pack, there have been persistent rumors that additional guest characters will eventually join the roster.

One datamine leak that emerged in early June provided further evidence that Scream’s Ghostface may be added as a guest fighter.

Furthermore, previous rumors and leaks also suggest that characters like Doomguy and Harley Quinn may potentially join the original Mortal Kombat roster.
