Most Popular Steam Deck Game in May: Beloved Indie Sequel

The list of the top 20 Most Played Steam Deck games in May has been revealed, and Hades 2 has claimed the top spot, closely followed by the original game.

With Computex 2024 currently underway, June signals the start of a string of future revelations in the field of technology. The month also provides a sneak peek into the most popular Steam Deck games that have been played.

The top 20 Steam Deck games for May 2024 have been revealed by @OnDeck, the official Steam Deck X/Twitter account. The Hades series has claimed the top spot on the list. The announcement can be found at https://x.com/OnDeck/status/1797695554891481455.

Hades 2 was released in early access on May 6, 2024. Despite being available for less than a month, the rogue-like game has already been fully verified for the Valve handheld.

The highly acclaimed sequel has also surpassed popular games like Stardew Valley and Balatro on the most-played Steam Deck game list to claim the number one spot.

In addition to Hades 2 solidifying its position as the top game on the Steam Deck for May, its predecessor, Hades, has also risen in popularity. The complete list is provided below:

Last month, Hades 1 was sandwiched between Vampire Survivors and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. However, it has now climbed from 18th to fourth place on the list. This is most likely due to fans playing the first game in preparation for the release of Hades 2.

Supergiant Games, the developer of Hades, expressed their gratitude to Steam Deck owners on their Twitter account, saying, “Thank you all for playing our iconic rogue-likes, Hades. Both versions!”The tweet was posted on X/Twitter.

Even though Hades has climbed up the ranks, it is not a recent addition to the list. As early as August 2022, owners of the Steam Deck have been playing the first Hades, just months after the handheld’s launch. It is uncertain if Hades 2 will also become one of the top-played games on Steam Deck.
