Challenge 1

The first official challenge had teams of contestants competing against each other. In a dramatic twist, a member from each team had to voluntarily sacrifice themselves to prevent total team elimination. This resulted in 243 players exiting, which left 705 contestants.

Those who chose to exit left without any prizes, illustrating the high stakes involved. Notably, three entire rows of contestants had no volunteers to leave, leading to their dramatic elimination by falling into a pit.

Challenge 2

The second challenge tasked contestants with stacking blocks on a red starting base within a time limit of 10 minutes. If they successfully stacked without collapsing, they continued; however, once 100 towers fell, an additional 100 players exited, leaving 605 contestants.

This challenge not only tested the stacking abilities of the contestants but also required them to prevent any minor disruptions that could lead to their towers collapsing, causing significant frustration for many.

Challenge 3

In a psychological twist, MrBeast offered escalating bribe amounts to contestants; however, if anyone accepted a bribe, their entire row would face elimination. Consequently, 112 participants opted out, reducing the number to 493.

Challenges in Episode 2

In the first challenge of Episode 2, contestants were split into two teams and tasked with catching red balls falling from the ceiling. 62 players chose to leave, which narrowed the contestant count down to 431.

This challenge introduced a multi-level arena where players received tokens to determine their team allocation. Dropping balls resulted in losses for the teams involved.

Challenge 2

This challenge encouraged team members to persuade others to voluntarily exit the competition. At the end of the countdown, the smallest team emerged victorious. 65 contestants exited, leaving 366 players remaining.

Communication was critical in this challenge, as teams navigated floors with limited visibility. A set of red phones allowed for strategic discussions between teams, leading to varied outcomes, from collaboration to deception.

Challenge 3

The next challenge involved teams tossing balls into a large red Solo cup from a significant height, with each team getting only one shot to score points and avoid elimination. 61 contestants exited, reducing the number to 305.

Transitioning from childhood games to an undergrad party vibe, this challenge mirrored a giant game of beer pong. In addition to the regular cup, players had the option to aim for a challenging gold cup, earning themselves $250,000 for success.

Challenge 4

A trivia challenge split contestants into groups of four from opposing teams, with the team accumulating the highest score declared the winner. Unfortunately for 63 participants, they exited, reducing the total to 242.

Both teams performed well initially, prompting the introduction of more challenging questions. Complex topics including Roman numerals, planetary moons, and technology combined to keep the Orange Team in the competition.

Challenge 5

Concluding the second episode, captains from the four remaining teams faced temptations in the form of escalating bribes that would allow them to stay in the game while sending their teams home. If none accepted the bribes by the end of the challenge, every contestant would proceed forward.
