On October 17, 2024, Thursday, the team behind Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime revealed a fresh visual along with the exciting news that the series is set to premiere in January 2025. In addition to this update, the production staff introduced new cast members and shared information regarding the theme songs.

Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! is an adaptation of the acclaimed light novel series created by author Suzuki Makishima and illustrator Yappen. The light novels are published by Hobby Japan under their HJ Novels imprint. This series also features a manga adaptation illustrated by Shimo Aono.

January 2025 marks the debut of Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime

On their official website and X (formerly Twitter) account, the production team disclosed on Thursday, October 17, 2024, that Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! will air starting January 2025. The anime will be featured in the Animeism programming block on TBS, CBC, MBS, and other channels across Japan, with detailed broadcast timings to follow.

A striking new key visual for the anime has been released, showcasing characters Mariabelle, Kazuhiro, and Uridora, adorned in autumn outfits while visiting Hirosaki Castle in Japan.

Alongside this visual, the cast has expanded with the inclusion of two new voice talents. Yumi Uchiyama joins as Uchidora, a dragon that Mariabelle and Kazuhiro find deep within ancient ruins, while Rico Sasaki voices a character named Myui, who is a cat child. The main characters feature Yusuke Kobayashi lending his voice to Kazuhiro Kitase and Kaede Hondo voicing Mariabelle.

Details regarding the theme songs and their performers have also been announced. The opening theme, “Palette Days,”will be performed by Sasaki, and the ending theme, “Yummy Yummy,”is a collaboration between VTuber Higuchi Kaede and Kanae. Both artists have expressed their enthusiasm for being part of the anime on the official website.

Toru Kitahara is set to direct the comedy fantasy series at Zero-G Studios, with Aya Yoshinaga as the series composer and scriptwriter. The skilled Madoka Hirayama will serve as the chief animation director and character designer.

Based on Suzuki Makishima’s light novel series, Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! combines elements of romantic comedy and fantasy, following the story of Kazuhiro, a slothful office worker. He unexpectedly enters a mysterious dream world where he befriends a stunning elf girl.

Unfortunately, this delightful friendship is interrupted by an attacking dragon. However, upon awakening, he discovers that the same elf girl, Mariabelle, is now by his side in the real world. This premise sets the stage for Kazuhiro and Mariabelle’s unique and comical interactions in modern-day Japan.
