MSI’s stunning World of Warcraft GPU celebrates 20 years of hit MMO

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the popular MMO, World of Warcraft and MSI have joined forces to release a special edition graphics card with a unique theme.

Despite the significant advancements in technology over the past 20 years, one thing has remained constant since the launch of the popular MMORPG World of Warcraft on PC – the necessity for a graphics card. This game has been claiming the free time of many for two decades now, and with the continuous improvement of graphics and visuals, a graphics card is still essential for an optimal gaming experience.

MSI has collaborated with Blizzard to launch a special edition RTX 4070 Super graphics card for World of Warcraft, commemorating the game’s 20th anniversary.

Upon first glance, the striking custom graphics card exudes a strong World of Warcraft vibe. MSI intentionally incorporated the game’s signature colors, ‘Mystic Blue’ and ‘Glorious Gold’, into the design of the GPU, instantly evoking memories of the Alliance.

Each of the three fans, which are a part of the Tri Frozr 3 thermal design, proudly display a bold 20th-anniversary logo. This attention to detail extends to the included mount, adorned with gold accents and WoW branding. The back of the card continues to impress, showcasing a variety of WoW and MSI logos. However, the standout feature of the backplate is its magnetic “puzzle-style”design, adding a unique touch to the overall look of the card.

MSI has given ten custom backplates, each featuring significant artwork from the game’s expansions throughout its 20-year existence.

All expansions, ranging from the well-received Wrath of the Lich King to Warlords of Draenor, which encountered server issues upon release, can be shown side-by-side.

The WoW Edition card, a custom GeForce RTX 4070 Super, is more than capable of handling the highly anticipated tenth expansion, The War Within.

The GPU in the middle range is equipped with 12GB of GDDR6X RAM, a 192-bit memory bus, and a boost clock speed of 2475 MHz. It is also equipped with Nvidia’s DLSS technology and is capable of easily handling 1440p gaming.

MSI has yet to release any information on when the limited-edition card will be available. Currently, the Where to Buy section of the site is still vacant.

Similarly, like other flawlessly designed custom GPUs, anticipate the custom RTX 4070 Super card to come with a higher price tag, likely exceeding its fair value in value.
