The narrative of MTG Aetherdrift follows the legendary Planeswalker, Chandra Nalaar, as she enters the exhilarating Ghirapur Grand Prix. This epic race traverses multiple planes—including Amonkhet, Avishkar, and Muraganda—where competitors from all over the Omenpaths race to seize the coveted Aetherspark, a revered artifact that bestows planeswalker-like abilities upon its wielder. Every racer is hungry for victory and willing to take risks—setting the stage for intense competition.
While Wizards of the Coast has yet to unveil the full details of Aetherdrift, initial gameplay elements reveal a significant emphasis on Artifacts and Vehicles, aptly reflecting the racing theme.
