Excalibur, Sword of Eden is a recently released Equipment Artifact in MTG’s Universes Beyond: Assassin’s Creed. This Legendary sword has the ability to greatly increase the power of your Creatures and potentially lower its own casting cost to zero.
Additional Legendary Isu Artifacts such as the Staff of Eden and the Vault’s Key are valuable due to their ability to steal cards from the graveyard and draw new ones. While the Excalibur, Sword of Eden may not provide the same benefits, it stands out with its superior combat effectiveness and the ability to be cast for free with proper preparation.
Similar to other colorless Artifacts such as Blightsteel Colossus, Excalibur, Sword of Eden also has a high mana cost of 12. In most cases, this would be considered an exorbitant price for an Equipment card in MTG. However, Excalibur offers a built-in method for reducing its casting cost.
The cost of casting this card is reduced by X, where X represents the combined mana value of all Historic permanents under your control, including Artifacts, Legendaries, and Sagas.
The Sword of Eden, known as Excalibur, bestows a tremendous +10/+10 boost to the Creature it is equipped to, transforming even a humble 1/1 into a formidable presence on the battlefield. Despite its low cost of 2 generic mana to equip, only Legendary Creatures have the ability to wield this powerful Artifact.
Ever since its reveal, Excalibur, Sword of Eden has been attracting MTG players. This highly anticipated card from Universes Beyond: Assassin’s Creed has captured the attention of many due to its stylish design, straightforward mechanics, and manageable casting cost. As one player put it, “We can’t wait to wield this massive 12 mana sword.”
Some fans have already started strategizing potential combinations and Commanders for this powerful Assassin’s Creed Artifact. One fan even mentioned, “Tetsuo, Imperial Champion is going to be a perfect fit for this.”With the addition of Excalibur, Sword of Eden, Tetsuo will have access to the most valuable Equipment, boosting its burn effect to unprecedented levels of strength.
